About Eleanor
I’ve been in the NHS since 1987, first as a Nurse, then as a Midwife. I am registered with the NMC, RCM and NCH. I worked in London and moved to Somerset in 2000. I now work in Taunton and Bristol. In private practice my work is to support and counsel and I do not act as an Independent Midwife. I am in the NHS and in Private Practice and have facilitated a baby loss support group for 2 years. I run workshops for Professionals and for Parents and these are about managing stress in a difficult environment. Stress has a habit of staying around us and so we have a tendency to accumulate increasing amounts of it. My workshops are about 1) recognition of that process. 2) understanding how you are affected by that . 3) learning a new way to react in stressful situations and / or managing it after the event. In Hypnotherapy, I show that there is a way to manage any situation in the present or what’s to come by learning to recognise what causes anxiety in the first instance and interrupting that pattern which has become a habitual response. It also supports clarity of thought, focussing and increased confidence. We realise we can achieve what we never thought was possible. My job is to help you to get to where you want to be so that life is better. I organise and arrange the Taunton Birth Forum, A monthly meeting which brings Midwives, Students, Doctors, Parents, Complimentary Health Practitioners together to look at themes around pregnancy, birth and Parenting. The idea is that we share our understanding and learn mutually together. I have four children and My Husband also works in the NHS and in Private Practice as a Cranio Sacral Therapist.
