Did you know that:
- To have the birth you want is not about luck but takes specific skills
- You need to be informed and confident to make good choices
- If you do not prepare psychologically for your birth you take a risk of losing control
- Women who stand up for and protect their babies in pregnancy and birth are less predisposed to birth trauma and post natal depression
- Identifying key support people and knowing they are also supported means you can concentrate on your baby
- You will feel elated and overjoyed by your birth experience when you have been assertive and not dominated
Can you afford not to come ?
On this workshop you will learn:
How to work out your options and make a good choice
Why liaising with the midwife and doctors is safer than automatically agreeing with them
What to do to stay focused and confident
When and how to relax, when to stay alert.
Fee £200 per couple / £100 per person per day.

Praise for the Birth Preparation Workshop
"I just wanted to let you know that on Monday evening 17th Jan, our little boy Max arrived! He was born in the Birth Pool at Weston Hospital weighing 7lb 10oz and the birth couldn’t have gone better. Unlike with my son Theo, this labour didn’t start with my waters breaking, I was just getting regular contractions about every ten minutes apart which had started early on Monday morning.
We arrived at the hospital at 6am thinking it would all happen pretty soon but as the day progressed my contractions weren’t getting stronger and were still between 5 and 10 min apart. I was wondering when it was going to properly happen as I didn’t feel like I was in Labour but I reminded myself I was in no rush. At 5pm they examined me and I was only 5 cm dilated so I was thinking it would be a long night, but then at 5.30pm my waters broke, and one hour later at 6.34pm Max was born, he came out in 3 pushes! I had only minimal tearing and required no stitches and we were back home within 15 hours.
Thanks for all your help, I know coming to the workshop in Dec made a huge difference to our birth experience and overall it could not have been more different from the first time around. Although that one hour was very intense, I kept telling myself that my body knew what it was doing and I think that helped me to manage the contractions." Sarah.
“I enjoyed the day so much and left feeling so inspired, it made a complete difference to how we approached having our baby, thank you” Karen, Street.
“ We cannot say in enough words what relief we felt when doing this day with you, it made perfect sense to us both” Ruth, Exeter
“ We arrived not knowing what to expect and wondering if we were gambling with our money but we left, so filled with confidence and feeling so calm and relaxed it really is fantastic, and the best money I ever spent for my baby” Penny, Bristol
“I came alone and feeling a bit concerned I would be the odd one out but I quickly found everyone to be so welcoming and good company, we spent a great day with you, and I have relayed it to my husband so that he understands it too” Sarah, Taunton
“This is brilliant Eleanor, I have learned such a lot and its all practical, and real as you relate it so well to your work as a Midwife, we now understand how we need to approach our babies birth as a couple and what our role is in making sure that will be exactly as we would like it to be” Nathan and Michaela, Taunton
“I was concerned that as English is not my 1st language I would not be understood in the hospital but now I know that this is not true but also that having that worry is stopping me from being confident about my baby, so thank you so much for helping me to feel relaxed about my accent and being understood” Helene, Tiverton
